The Flood of 2010

I know many of you have seen drastic and horrify pictures of the floods that hit Middle Tennessee. My heart goes out to the families that have lost everything in their homes and having to re-build their lives again. I can't image what they are going through. As I watch the news, I am in disbelief of the damages that have occurred.

The Hobbs Family suffered a little damage to our basement. We had a total of 6 inches of water on that weekend (3 inches on Saturday and another 3 inches on Sunday). We are blessed and thankful that our basement was the only thing that got hit. We have lost carpet, a mattress, and a few other things; but nothing compared to others.

Maddie is still out of school due to the flooding and the conditions in the county. I just saw where she will be out of school for the remainder of this week and then a decision will be made this weekend regarding next week. Of course, she is thrilled and believes she is already out for summer break. The high school students (grades 10-12) and all of the staff/faculty are reporting to school this week and to finish their testing.

Here are some pictures that I wanted to share of our basement and some others that I have "borrowed" from around the community and Nashville.

It's crazy, isn't it? I'm glad your house was mostly ok. What a mess we've had here in our sweet little town of Nashville! And your Mother's Day pictures are great. You have beautiful kiddos, but you already know that, right? They sure are cute!
